"and the dining was exceptionally good... at dinner, I ate sushi as good as any in London restaurants and fragrant bowls of noodles in a Thai broth with chunks of white fish."

about me
Hello, my name is Phillippa Fern Kenyon Shutes and I am a private chef and recipe writer from the UK .
With 10 years of industry experience, I specialise in health and wellness, creating and cooking menus for barre, yoga, hiking and fitness retreats.
Born in London, raised in New Zealand and Indonesia, I attended Drama and Theatre school in Birmingham, before completing my actor training in London.

Turning to food, I opened my own street food and catering business; learning everything from people management to menu development, recipe writing and food styling. I became a private chef in 2016, cooking for so many fantastic people in some of the world's most beautiful places.

I draw inspiration from what is local, fresh, healthy and nourishing.
In 2018 I attended Matthew Kenny's culinary academy in New York City and totally retrained in plant-based cuisine.
private client, Ramatuelle
"We had a lovely Summer and Phillippa was a huge success. Her presentation of food was excellent and imaginative and everything she cooked was delicious and healthy"
My aim is to create healthy, organic and visually dynamic dishes, bespoke to each individual client.
Understanding the movement towards a sustainable and zero-waste industry, I am particularly stringent when it comes to waste and plastics within the kitchen, throughout my business and when on a private job.
I believe a plant-based diet is the food of our future.
